Portfolio | Newborn Lifestyle Sessions
Newborn Lifestyle sessions are focused on your connection with your new baby. Whether we are in your home or a studio, I will capture the details and little moments with your newborn.
Frequently Asked Questions
for Newborn Lifestyle Sessions
-
If you want a sleeping baby, I recommend 7-10 days. I don’t put the baby in any specific positioning during the session since I am a lifestyle photographer so I don’t need them to sleep during our session.
Most families book around 3 weeks because they have gained some familiarity with their baby’s needs, but their newborn is still little!
That being said, your comfort level is priority so if you want to wait even longer - that works for me too.
-
Since I am a lifestyle photographer, I like capturing real emotions and candid connections. I do offer some prompts and posing advice, but the priority will be taking photos of you with your baby.
If the baby is comfortable out of your arms, I do love taking individual photos of your baby too.
All newborn lifestyle galleries include both color and black and white images as well as a mix of looking at the camera, candid, and detailed shots.

I advise all clients to choose clothes that feel like them and are comfortable. I do think softer colors (think neutrals) work better on focusing on the baby.
I have a client closet of postpartum dresses that you can borrow at no cost. And most of those work well if you are breastfeeding. I also have lots of neutral newborn clothes and a baby basket I can bring.

Sessions can be in your home or in a studio we rent. My favorite studio is in downtown Seattle - which can be a trek but worth it for the natural light and character.
If we have sessions in your home, I recommend you DO NOT clean your whole house. Who has time for that, and I am not judging. I typically have sessions in bedrooms and nurseries, but natural window light is my priority. I do have a lighting system I can bring for our darker, rainy days.
-
Absolutely! I do not charge extra for siblings or grandparents or any other loved ones. Plus, if grandparents are in town they can help entertain any younger siblings as they will need breaks usually from their photo being taken.

I understand what a big investment it is to document this special time for your growing family. I didn’t get maternity or newborn photos done of my second baby girl and I fully regret it. I do offer a discount if you book both maternity and newborn photos and I will link that information at the bottom of the page.
We booked Lindsay for in home newborn photos and we are so glad we did! A wonderful experience all around!
From the start, Lindsay was quick to respond and coordinate the session. She was flexible on the day/timing of the shoot knowing the baby’s arrival date was up in the air. We were so impressed at how helpful Lindsay was at getting us ready for the session day, including providing postpartum dresses and newborn baby outfits for us (a big relief with a newborn to take care of). When Lindsay arrived, we were immediately put at ease. She made the session so much fun and was incredibly patient when baby was fussy to get the perfect shots.
And of course, we are so in love with our photos! Lindsay captured our growing family beautifully with the perfect mixture of posed, candid, and detail shots. We are so grateful for these photos and will cherish them forever. We can’t wait to have Lindsay continue to capture our family over the years and look forward to the next time already!
